GENERAL INSURANCE: Compare existing products while porting health insurance plan
Health insurance

I had taken a floater policy from a private general insurance company seven years back, for my son, daughter-in-law and two granddaughters for Rs 300,000. Additional bonus sum insured is Rs 210,000. Its renewal of Rs 22,600 for one year is due on June 27, 2019. I am not happy with the insurance provider and want to port to some other health insurance provider without losing any benefits that is, cover of Rs 300,000+ Rs 210,000. Can you please suggest one at least equivalent to the present one.

We assume that you too are covered in the policy. Kindly note while porting you can compare the health products in the market. One should look for a health product/plan, that offers covers other than the traditional features, for example, maternity cover, domiciliary cover, alternative treatment, long-term policy, installment facility, minimal co-payment, minimal waiting periods, hassle free and good claim settlement.
The below mentioned Future Generali Health plans that can be considered:

Option 1-

Health Total Vital plan - It has sum insured options of -Rs 3 lakh /5 lakh /10 lakh. Kindly note the portability, that is, continuity will be offered for base sum insured +cumulative bonus, that is, Rs 300,000+ Rs 2,10,000. Accordingly you will have to opt for minimum Rs 10 lalh sum insured. However you will have to opt for two separate policies : one individual for self and another floater for son + daughter-in-law + two granddaughters. Kindly note here your son will have to be the proposer to cover his spouse and children

Option 2 –

Health Total Superior plan - It has sum insured options of - Rs 15 lakh /Rs 20 lakh /Rs 25 lakh. Kindly note the portability, that is, continuity will be offered for base sum insured +cumulative bonus that is, Rs 300,000+ Rs 2,10,000. Accordingly you will have to opt for minimum Rs 15 lakh sum insured .You can opt for the floater policy for entire family, that is, self + son + daughter-in-law + two granddaughters. Acceptance is subject to policy terms and conditions
