He loots others in Pune to fulfil his car dream

In order to own his dream car, Parvez Hanif Shaikh (34) allegedly takes the burglary route.

Shaikh and his accomplices Amol Vishwas Ovhal (30) of Wagoli and Vijay Duttatray Koli (38) of Sangli were arrested by the crime branch officials in Chinchwad area.

The police records show that Shaikh of Sakat slums near Gendamala (Satara) took to crime in 2003. The city crime branch claims that Shaikh has two murder cases against him in Satara.

According to the police, on March 13 at around 10.30 pm, Shaikh and his two accomplices looted a Sangli-based Sachin jewellery shop at gunpoint. The booty included 107 tola gold, 7 kg silver and Rs2 lakh.

Later, Shaikh bought a second-hand, grey Honda City bearing registration number MH-12 BV 8114 from a city-based agent for Rs3 lakh.

A crime branch officer told DNA, “He told us that ‘mera dream tha ki mein acche gadi me gumo. To isliye maine chori ki aur gadi garidi’ (I used to steal to fulfil my dream to own a costly car).”
Additional commissioner of police (crime) AD Shinde said, “On March 25, a team led by senior police inspector Mohan Vidhate found them in Chinchwad area. They were planning to loot a Walhekarwadi-based jewellery shop.”
