MUMBAI: Tabla maestro Zakir Hussain's album "Golden Strings Of The Sarode", nominated for a Grammy in the best traditional world music category, "happened by accident" and was recorded in three hours.

"This is my fourth nomination, I have won once, but one learns not to get one's hopes up," Hussain told reporters on the sidelines of a press conference on Friday.

"In fact (sarod player) Aashish Khan and I were not hoping to make this album. It happened by accident," he said.

Narrating how the album was recorded, Hussain said, "We were invited by the head of a sound music company to check out a new sound machine.

"When we went there we decided to play as if we were recording for an album. And within three hours, our album was recorded."
