Yukta Mookhey's hubby gets bail after settling cases amicably

Former Miss World Yukta Mookhey and her estranged husband Prince Tuli informed the Bombay high court on Wednesday that they have reached an amicable settlement. Following this, Justice Mridula Bhatkar granted anticipatory bail to Tuli.

Filji Frederick and Tauban Irani, counsels for Tuli and Mookhey respectively, informed Justice Bhatkar that settlement conditions had been finalised.

The two have mutually decided to withdraw the cases they filed against each other in various courts, said Frederick.

On July 3, 2013, Mookhey had filed a case against her husband, parents-in-law and sisters-in-law under sections 498A (cruelty), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 377 (unnatural sex) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). She had also filed a private compliant with the magistrate alleging cruelty by Tuli.

Mookhey has agreed to withdraw these complaints.

Tuli will file a petition before the division bench of high court seeking quashing of the cases against him. Mookhey has agreed to give No Objection for quashing of the cases, added Frederick.

Tuli, on the other hand, had approached the family court at Nagpur in May 2013 seeking divorce. That case will be transferred to a Mumbai court where they will apply seeking divorce by mutual consent.

Tuli had approached the high court seeking anticipatory bail after it was rejected by the sessions court.

He had alleged that Mookhey used to misbehave with him and his parents and she wanted to be treated like a diva at home. He also alleged that they had suspicion over her character.

During hearing of the anticipatory bail application, the high court had asked the estranged couple to try to settle the dispute amicably.

Mookhey married Prince in 2008. Prince's family has a transport and hospitality business in Nagpur. She and her three-year-old son have been staying with her parents for a year now.
