Panic gripped Malvani area after the body of a man was found in a parked tempo on Monday morning. The police claimed that it was a case of natural death and there was nothing suspicious about it. The deceased has been identified as Nandkumar Gangadhar Mahato alias Nandu.

According to the Malvani police, they received information on Monday morning that the body of a youth was lying in a parked tempo on Marve Road near Malvani in Malad West. A police team soon reached the spot and sent the body to Shatabdi Hospital for post-mortem.

"Primary medical report has stated that there was nothing suspicious about the cause of death. Further inquiries in the area revealed that Mahato was a resident of Malvani area and was jobless. We also learnt that Mahato was addicted to alcohol and was unwell for the past few days," said an officer from Malvani police station.

Mahato seems to have died due to the ailment he was suffering from and soon his body would be handed over to his relatives for last rites, the officer added.
