As part of the programme, which will be held today, 35-40 cyclists will pedal for three kilometres in Mumbai to raise awareness about differently abled people.

The main programme that will be organized by Muskan Foundation, will be held at the amphitheatre at Bandra’s Carter Road from 3.30 pm. Shiv Sena youth leader Aaditya Thackeray is expected to be the chief guest at the event.

As per statistics given by the World Health Organization, over 15% the world’s population is disabled, with 2.21% coming from India, as per the 2011 national census.

However, activists believe that the number could be higher in India, as people tend to hide their disabilities fearing social stigma.
