The police are still investigating the matter as no suicide note was found
A newly married woman, aged 26, allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the seventh floor of her building on Friday. She has been identified as Shweta Shah, a resident of Mumbai Central area.
According to the Nagpada police, Shah got married in February 2018 and was living with her husband, who runs a shop of mobile accessories supply. When her husband would go to the shop, she would visit her maternal house which was in the same locality.
The police informed that Shah, following her routine, had visited her parents' house on Friday. However, she jumped off from the seventh floor at around 12 pm.
She was immediately rushed to the Nair hospital, but, was declared dead on arrival.
"Shah's mother was working inside the home when she suddenly jumped from the balcony. The passers-by immediately rushed to help her while her family came out after hearing the noise," informed a police officer.
"So far, an accidental death report has been registered. We have not found any suicide note yet. We would be recording the statements of her family members to ascertain whether there was any quarrel before she jumped. We would also record the statement of her husband to ascertain the state of their relationship and to check whether she was depressed," he added.
