As per the Kurla GRP, the woman was identified as Sridevi Gurusiddhi Vader, a resident of Tembhipada in Bhandup (W). On Friday night, Sridevi allegedly had a fight with her husband, Gurusiddhi, over food, after which the couple went to bed.

Post midnight, when Gurusiddhi woke up, he found that his wife and sons were missing from the house. An officer from Kurla GRP narrated the sequence of events, saying: "Sridevi, along with her kids, jumped in front of a down local that was going to Kalwa car shed from Bhandup. When we received the call, we immediately rushed to the spot and got all three admitted to Rajawadi hospital. Sridevi and her five-year-old son died in the hospital, while her three-year-old child is in the ICU."

The Kurla GRP found an ID card belonging to the three-year-old boy, through which they traced the deceased's address and informed her husband about the incident.
