Woman dies trying to save son from being thrashed

The police have arrested Akash Sahani, 14, Manoj Sahani, 17, Hariram Sahani, 41, and Mandohari Sahani, 40, for the brutal murder of 60-year-old Zubedabi Shaikh at Kherwadi in Bandra (East).
On Saturday night, Akash slipped and fell on the staircase next to the flat owned by the Shaikhs, sustaining an injury.
“Akash blamed Shaikh’s son Sher Ali, 15, for the slippery staircase but locals intervened in the ensuing fight,” said a police officer. “After an hour, the accused showed up, dragged Sher out of his home and started beating him. Shaikh rushed to save her son.”
“Akash thrashed Shaikh and the other accused Manoj hit her head on a water pipeline. Shaikh sustained severe injuries,” said senior police inspector, P Bagade of Nirmal Nagar police station.
Shaikh was rushed to Bhabha hospital where she was declared dead before admission.
