A 21-year-old woman gave birth to a baby on a platform of Dadar railway station on Monday night. However, on Wednesday, Geeta surprised everyone as she "ran away" from the civic-run Sion Hospital with her newborn. The hospital authorities are finding it difficult to trace her as she fled along with the papers that had her address details.
Earlier on Monday, Geeta went into labour when she was at Dadar station. Her husband and their two children were with her.
As she experienced the pains, the local Lohmarg police rushed to her rescue. The woman cops isolated her, holding up sheets around her and carrying out her delivery successfully. The 24x7 medical assistance team of the railways also assisted in carrying out the procedure safely.
After the delivery, the mother and the newlyborn were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for proper care and medical assistance.
While the police are still clueless about the whereabouts of Geeta, questions are being raised about the security of patients at Sion Hospital, which is one of the city's biggest civic hospitals.
