Dengue scare has forced people to initiate clean up drives and have interactive sessions with doctors. To redefine creativity, responsible youngsters from Thane have made a group on Whatsapp called 'WhatsApp blood group members' to ensure that people get blood during emergencies.A 25-year-old resident of Ghodbunder Road, Ashish Patil, founder of the group shared, "I had thought about creating such groups for a long time and add genuinely interested and active people to get maximum benefits to the society. After discussing it with my friends, I called up everyone and explained them my motive of creating the group."As dengue is taking toll on many lives, this initiative aims to benefit many people. "I have tried to include individuals from different areas in the city who are active and willing to be associated with the cause. The person in need just needs to post his requirements and details, we would make sure that they are helped," added Patil. The group will also ensure to update people about blood donation drives in the city. Munindra Suvid, associated with the cause and also a member of the group said, " We were planning for such informative groups for long. The recent cases of dengue prompted us to set in action in the city. As the disease is directly related to platelet loss, the group would be of great help to patients."
