In an interaction with journalists at his official residence Varsha bungalow, Fadnavis also said that BJP would not take help from parties like the Congress or NCP if it falls short of majority seats in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. When asked, if BJP would join hands with Shiv Sena after the results for Municipal polls are out, Fadnavis said, "We would win all the 10 municipal corporations and would emerge as number one party in Zilla Parishads. If Sena agrees on transparency issue, we are not averse to the idea as we have sought votes on the plank of transparency. If Sena does not agree to this, then we will choose to sit in the Opposition despite being single largest party in Mumbai."

Speaking about Marathi manoos being thrown out of areas like Girgaum, Fadnavis said that neither Shiv Sena has been able to stop this migration nor has it been able to provide basic amenities to Girgaumkars.
