The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) managed to carry out the Tansa pipeline repairs successfully after 20 hours of nonstop work that ended on Friday evening. The water supply will be soon restored to normalcy and there will be no water cuts from Saturday, civic officials said.Majority of city areas had to face 30 % water cuts on Friday due to two pipe burst in Thane district on Thursday. The Tansa (West) main and the Tansa (East) main ruptured simultaneously at Bhiwandi and Wadape respectively, due to which there was a drop in city’s water supply.However, the BMC started the repair works on a war footing. A  special 50-member team headed by Kishor Bhoir, deputy engineer of hydraulic department, was dispatched immediately to the spot, which monitored the repair works.
