Despite arranging police patrols, water balloons were hurled at the first class women's coach near Mulund on Friday. Hooligans residing along the railway tracks allegedly hurled the water balloons. Similar incidents were reported at Kurla, Sion, and Bandra also."We deployed Railway Protection Force personnel in plain clothes and the rail tracks were strictly monitored. However, the down local from Mulund became a target. We received a call and have been probing the matter to identify the miscreants," said a senior RPF official.This apart, some minor accidents were reported, too. Ram Dubey, a 28-year-old Kurla resident had injured his middle finger while playing Holi with his friends at his society compounds. He was rushed to the emergency medicine unit of Sion Hospital.Vimal Tiwari, a friend of Dubey informed that he twisted his finger when it got stuck behind a gate while playing Holi.Some more such cases were reported at various civic-run hospitals.A Wadala resident, was bitten by a dog while playing Holi. He went to KEM Hospital. "We were playing with colours inside the society compound. Some people tried hurling water balloons and colours at a dog. The dog got angry and bit me."Seventeen minor injury cases were reported at KEM Hospital, Parel, this year; one of them was a road mishap. "Out of the 17 cases, 12 were eye injuries. No major injuries were reeported," said Dr Avinash Supe, Dean, KEM Hospital.At Sion Hospital, 20 minor injury cases were attended to. A handful of cases were related to an overdose of bhaang and alcohol. In Nair Hospital, a 5-year-old boy was admitted for a few hours for breathing troubles caused by powder colours.
