An alert RPF staff gave a new lease of life to a woman after he saved her from falling on the train tracks in Mumbai’s Mumbra station on Wednesday.

The woman commuter, who has been identified as one Sharda almost met with an accident while trying to catch a running train on Wednesday morning.

The 45-year-old was trying to board the middle ladies compartment of a crowded CSMT bound local train.

At around 8.15am, RPF Constable Hasan Patel who was deputed at the platform, saw this lady trying to catch moving ladies special train that came on Mumbra platform number 2.

The passenger failed to board and was left out partially hanging outside from the local train. The RPF was alert enough as he pulled her out - while he too lost balance in the process - as the train was gaining speed.

Sunil Udasi, Chief PRO, Central Railway confirmed the incident. The lady then was safely pulled onto the platform.
