According to police, the accused, Sarfaraz alias Amar Khanna, 38, revealed during investigation that the actress submitted their marriage documents for processing visa to perform Hajj and Umrah at Mecca in Saudi Arabia in 2017. Khanna on Saturday was taken to his office for the seizure of documents pertaining to the properties involved in the dispute.

Moreover, the veteran actress had claimed that the Nikah Nama (Muslim marriage certificate) was allegedly forged by Khanna, but shockingly, Khanna has filed for conjugal of restitution rights in the Bandra family court. "Khanna has filed for restitution of conjugal rights in the family court. My client has been falsely implicated in the case," said Advocate Kishore Gaikwad, defense counsel.

A close aide of Khanna claimed, "We were introduced to them as husband and wife. The financial dispute has become murky and if the actress wanted to file a rape case, it should have been when she first filed a case of stalking against Sarfaraz."

Nisar Tamboli, deputy commissioner of police (Detection), said, "Our police teams are verifying the documents, which have been seized from the office of the accused. The cellphone has been seized from which the evidence will be collected."
