"We prepared around 7,500 vada pavs, 5,000 ladoos and 1,500 kachoris for the devotees. It is a day of revelry, and devotees reach the shore at 10 pm, and are usually hungry by then. Everyone can give money. But doing physical work is what gives a spiritual high and that is what people did," said Krishnakumar Nemani who has been distributing the food items for the last 10 years or so.
