Bandra zonal president of MNS, Tushar Aphale, has written to the H-West ward demanding that the amount of Rs35-Rs40 lakh earned from various stalls during the fair be used for ensuring good services to all devotees.

"Since the BMC earns good revenue from the fair, it should be used to ensure a hospitable atmosphere for all those coming to the fair," Aphale said, adding that he will soon be visiting municipal commissioner Sitaram Kunte to discuss the issue further.

Civic activist from Bandra, Anil Joseph, echoed Aphale's sentiments. "If the BMC uses the revenue generated to concretise the roads in the vicinity of the church and arrange for free bus services from Bandra station during the fair, it would be of great help," said Joseph.

Assistant municipal commissioner of H-West ward, Prashant Sapkale, could not be reached for comment.
