More than 50 employee unions from Pimpri-Chinchwad, Talegaon, Chakan, Ranjangaon and social organisations, along with citizens’ groups, extended their support to Anna Hazare-led anti-corruption agitation on Thursday.

Employee union members gathered at the Pimpri Chowk and participated in a ghantanad in a symbolic support for Hazare’s strike.

Nagari Hakka Suraksha Samiti president Manav Kamble said, “We have written to the central ministries and taken signatures of all our employee unions who joined us.”

Shramik Ekta Mahasangh’s 42-employee union, Vishva Kalyan Kamgar Sanghatna and members of employee unions of Sandvik Asia Pvt Ltd, Thermax Ltd, JCB and Spaco, General Motors, Atlas Copco,  Alfa Laval, Greaves Cotton, Suzlon and Innovative Technology took part in the agitation in Pimpri.

Kiran Suvarna Mitra Parivar in Sant Tukaramnagar (Pimpri) had started the signature campaign at Pimpri-Chinchwad to support Hazare’s strike. Nearly 10,000 citizens from Sant Tukaramnagar, Ganganagar and Vallabhnagar signed up by noon.
