As crowds at the booking counters increase, the railways will be pumping in more and more of these independently operated machines. In fact to encourage the use of these machines, CR has decided to man them with railway employees who act as facilitators.The railway smart card, called the Automatic Ticket Vending Machine (ATVM) card, has been a hit with Mumbai's seven million commuters and has been extensively used by new as well as existing commuters.
