Ulhasnagar advocate files rape case against colleague

An advocate from Ulhasnagar has lodged a complaint against her colleague for allegedly raping her on the pretext of marriage. The accused allegedly raped her at her residence between 2013 and January 2014.
According to the police, the victim and accused worked in the same place and got into a relationship. The accused told the victim that he wants to marry her and that they will settle down soon.
In mid-January 2013, the victim met the accused for the first time in court and they immediately hit off well. After few months of friendship, they fell for each other.
"One day, the accused allegedly forced the victim to enter into a physical relationship with him, to which she refused. However, she agreed when the accused told her that he would marry her. Since last year, the accused has been allegedly raping the woman at her flat when no one is present," said an official from Ulhasnagar police station.
As per the police record, when the victim tried to convince the accused for marriage, he denied and started avoiding her. So, she finally decided to approach the police on Thursday and registered a complaint. The accused is still at large.
Another official from Ulhasnagar police station said, "We are investigating the case and once we arrest the culprit we will send both of them for a medical test them. As of now, we have registered a rape case on the basis of the victim's complaint."
The accused has been booked under section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code.
