Two Mumbai accused allege assault by CBI officers in custody

Two persons, who were arrested for extorting money from Bollywood film-maker Rakesh Roshan as well as in a fraud case, today alleged ill-treatment at the hands of CBI officers.The special CBI court on September 9 had remanded Ashwini Kumar, who had impersonated as a CBI officer and his associate Rajesh Ranjan to police custody till September 17, in connection with the fraud case.However, today they said that the CBI officers assaulted them while they were in their custody. Ranjan has also alleged of being stripped and beaten up by the officers.The court has remanded both of them to judicial custody and directed the jail authorities to take them to hospital and submit a report.
