Jadhav, whose kidneys had stopped functioning, had been on dialysis for the past couple of months. His condition deteriorated after Tushar's death and he was admitted to the hospital on Monday. He worked with a sales tax office in Thane.

Tushar, a third-year student of Rajendra Mane College of Engineering and Technology in Ratnagiri, was attacked by two people when he was returning home after writing his last paper on June 12. He was stabbed seven times with a knife and died on his way to hospital.

Talking to dna after his son's death, Arun had said, "Tushar was my only son, the only hope for my future. But he too has been killed. I have donated his eyes to the eye bank of Thane Civil Hospital. At least, some poor patient will use his eyes and remember my son."
