Three students died on Saturday when a truck rammed into their two-wheeler at Manor while they were returning home after picking up their college admission forms.

Tukaram Vanga, 18, Nagesh Vanga, 16, and Shahar Vanga, 17, all residents of Tamsai village in Manor, were travelling along the Palghar-Manor road after taking their forms from Lal Bhadur Shastri Chafekar College. All of a sudden, a Palghar-bound truck rammed headlong into their two-wheeler.

Vaman and Nagesh died on the spot, while Shahar succumbed to severe head injuries in a Vasai hospital.

"We have registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and under the Motor Vehicles Act and are investigating further," said a Manor police officer.
