Trim trees, but only under PMC supervision

Citizens desiring to cut branches of trees will have to do it in the presence of 
the horticultural attendant of the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC).

In a statement issued on Monday, the PMC said many residents who have been granted permission to cut the branches of trees are cutting additional branches.

“For cutting the trees or branches of the trees, permission from the PMC is mandatory. But there are instances when citizens cut additional branches, which cannot be supported,” the statement added. This has been done to save the green cover of the city.

According to the statement, the civic body has received complaints on the issue and hence has decided that citizens have to cut trees or branches in the presence of horticultural attendants of the garden department.
