Victim Kevin Danial Fitton, 30, staying at the hotel and a citizen of Ireland, filed a complaint with the Bund Garden police station.
Three unidentified persons were booked for allegedly thrashing an Irish national and looting cash and cellphone totally valued at Rs33,000 near Le Meridien Hotel in the wee hours of December 10.
Victim Kevin Danial Fitton, 30, staying at the hotel and a citizen of Ireland, filed a complaint with the Bund Garden police station.
According to the police, the victim, an employee of IBM, was waylaid by three unidentified persons near the railway overbridge on Raj Bahadur Road near Le Meridien on Saturday. They allegedly demanded money and other valuables from him. On refusal, the trio allegedly thrashed him and took away his cellphone and cash. After being beaten unconscious, the victim was allegedly dumped near burning ghat.
Later, the victim was admitted to the intensive care unit of Sassoon General Hospital.
Assistant police inspector SL Dubal of Bund Garden police station said, “At the time of admission, the complainant was not in a condition to give statement. Now, we have taken his statement and lodged a complaint against three unidentified persons.”
