Thane's Vidyavihar Prabhudesai has one more feather to add in his cap. The 38-year-old co-founder of LeadCap Ventures and LeadBurg mobile behavioural analytics platform has been selected as one of the experts in UNESCO's Inclusive Policy Lab (IPL).

The lab, which aims to solve global problems, has experts from across the world and Prabhudesai is the first from Thane to join the league. Prabhudesai's LeadCap Trust is involved in identifying and shaping future leaders in the states of Maharashtra and Kerala. In October this year, he applied for the fellowship on the UNESCO's IPL website.

IPL is a pool of experts helping people from across the world on any issue. For instance, people from underdeveloped countries with problems like female foeticide, infant mortality, malnutrition can get in touch with the experts on IPL. The experts who have dealt with these problems share their studies with the users and help them solve the issue. The IPL evaluated Prabhudesai on the basis of his past work for other UN (United Nations) bodies. "We do studies for World Economic Forum and had also done evaluation studies for UN on gender equality, ICT (information, communication, and technology)," he said.

Based on this evaluation, he was informed in the second week of November about his selection. Thrilled by the news, Prabhudesai is now looking forward to lending his expertise to resolve global issues. "My strength lies in education, youth empowerment, entrepreneurship and skill development. And anybody from anywhere in the world can approach us to seek a solution on these issues," he said.
