The police said that Raju Ahmed Ali was working late at night at Sanskruti Glacier building off New Link Road when a balcony slab collapsed to the ground floor, smashing his head. "His co-workers rushed him to hospital but he was declared dead before admission," said a police officer.

"The construction site did not have safety nets and the place was very dimly lit, which led to the accident," said the officer. A case under IPC sections 304A (causing death due to negligence) and 34 (common intent) has been lodged by the police.
