Students of Symbiosis Law College have expressed shock at the sudden death of their three friends, who were killed in an accident on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway on Wednesday after their car went out of control. Two others were seriously injured in the incident.

The deceased have been identified as Varun Nobbay, 19, a second year student hailing from Bangalore, Tarush Sudan, 19, a third year student from Delhi and Maitrayi Naidu, 20, a fourth year student also from Delhi. The accident occurred near Kamshet on the Pune-Mumbai corridor of the expressway around 2.30 pm.

Friends of both Varun Nobbay and Tarush Sudan have mourned the deaths on their online profiles on Facebook —‘In Memory of Varun Nobbay’ — and Orkut.
Final year law student, Adab Singh Kapoor said that both Varun and Tarush were good soccer players and an integral part of the college football team. “Our football matches will now be incomplete without them,” he said.

Maitrayi’s batchmate, Anirudh Singh, said, “She loved reading and was popular as a knowledgeable person in the friend circle,” he said.

“All three were friendly and fun to be with,” said Anirudh.

“Both Varun and Tarush came back from their native places to Pune to celebrate the New Year, but we lost three good human beings on New Year’s Eve,” he said.
Suvajit Chakraborty, Maitrayi’s classmate, said she was a studious girl and always ahead in studies.

Remembering his friends, Sugam Puri, a fourth year student said that all three were happy-go-lucky and never bothered anyone. “All the college students knew Varun and Tarush as they were popular for their soccer skills,” he said.

“2008 has ended on a tragic note for us and will leave a deep impact on us,” friends of the deceased said.
