MUMBAI: Navin Hiranandani, a city-based ENT surgeon, allegedly committed suicide by slashing his wrist at his residence in south Mumbai on Friday, police said.
 
The 66-year-old doctor was found dead in his bedroom in Malabar Hill, Deputy Commissioner of Police Pratap Dighavkar said, adding he did not leave a note.
 
He is survived by wife and a son, family sources said.
 
Navin was the eldest son of L H Hiranandani, prominent ENT surgeon and recipient of Padambhushan.
 
His brothers Niranjan and Surendra are builders.
 
Earlier, police said Navin had jumped from the sixth floor of his residence and that he was the brother of Dr LH Hiranandani. Later, they clarified that Navin had slashed his
wrist and was the eldest son of Dr LH Hiranandani.
