In a reprieve for BJP’s Mumbai president Raj Purohit, the Supreme Court on Friday stayed the lodging of an FIR by the CBI in the Pune land scam.

The Supreme Court stayed the February 22, 2011 order of the Bombay high court which handed investigation to CBI and directed it to lodge an FIR against government officers and Purohit, who was then minister of state, urban development department.

Their names were mentioned in the report of former IAS officer Sudhakar Joshi. Purohit moved Supreme Court challenging the Bombay high court’s order.
