MUMBAI: Krrish, India's first film depicting a superhero, is all set to be released this Friday, with a masked and cape-flaunting Hrithik Roshan flying over rooftops and rescuing the world a la Superman.

The film is a sequel to Roshan's 2003 hit "Koi.. Mil Gaya", which was borrowed from Hollywood's "ET", the Steven Speilberg blockbuster.

"Krrish is the first of its kind movie in India. We have used special effects of the best kind, comparable with Western standards, but the story is essentially Indian, taking off from where 'Koi.. Mil Gaya' left off," said director Rakesh Roshan.

The promos of the film are slick -- very different from Roshan's earlier ventures, and depict a masked flying hero. Trade analysts felt it would click with families and children.

Roshan's last venture "Koi .. Mil Gaya" was also a big hit with children. Last week, he launched "Krrish" merchandise, especially aimed at children, with a whole range of school products and toys.
