MUMBAI: Over 9,000 students of NSS, NCC, Scout and Guides of SNDT and Mumbai University on Tuesday pledged to resolve differences through dialogue and constitutional means to strive for establishing world peace, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.

To commemorate the 138th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and the International Non-Violence Day, as declared by United Nations, Bombay Sarvodaya Mandal and Public Concern for Governance Trust along with the students organised the event at Mumbai University stadium.

On the occasion, former Mumbai police chief Julio Ribeiro highlighted the importance of RTI Act in tackling corruption.
    
SNDT varsity Pro Vice-Chancellor Arun Sawant spoke about the significance of non-violence and Gandhian thoughts.

The members also pledged to work for peace and non-violence and to fulfil the dream of the Father of Nation in every nook and corner of the country.
