On January 11, More lost her arms after she lost balance and fell in a dug up pit near the train signal while boarding a CST-bound train at Ghatkopar.

“Students from up to eight colleges are planning to hold a rally from CST to Gateway of India in the coming week. We have applied for permission to Azad Maidan police station,” said Suchitra Shirke, third-year BMM student at SNDT College in Ghatkopar (West).

The rally is being anchored by students of St Xaviers’ College, MD College in Parel and KJ Somaiya College in Vidyavihar (E).

Help has been pouring in for More from all quarters. “In the past week, funds swelled to Rs9.25 lakh. However, an artificial electronic hands are still far-fetched,” said her father Ashok.

Two officials from Railway Claims Office — deputy chief commercial manager Jagdish Prasad and chief law assistance officer OP Yadav — visited Monica and handed her the Railway Claims Tribunal form for filing a case to seek compensation.
