The first merit list of special online admission process was declared late on Thursday where 59,960 students out of 67,627 were allocated seats, while the remaining 7,000 are those who already had allotted a seat, but were looking for a better option.

However, curious parents once again gathered outside the deputy director's office, questioning the delay in admitting students in colleges as the exams would soon begin. However, the officials claim they have done 100 per cent admissions and this is a betterment option that students have applied for.

Parents gathered on Friday at the Charni Road office to inquire why their ward were not allotted a seat in the special round. This time around, students who have already secured admissions. According to the officials from education department, the students were allotted seats randomly and not through the cut off list as cut off were set only during initial first, second and third round of online admission process. The remaining 7,000 are those students who were already allotted a seat in earlier admission rounds, said the education official.

Talking about the merit list, BB Chauhan, deputy director of school education, said: "100% of the students have been allotted admission. The special rounds were meant for those students who had not got admission or wished to change their college. A second special round will take place where the students will have to fill the forms again by making a new login ID and password."
