The Union ministry of information and broadcasting (I&B) has reconstituted the Society of Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, for a period of three years from March 4.
The Union ministry of information and broadcasting (I&B) has reconstituted the Society of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, for a period of three years from March 4.
As part of this measure, eminent film-maker Saeed Mirza has been nominated president of the governing council of FTII. The announcement was made in an order issued by the ministry on Thursday.
In the category of eminent personalities connected with films, education journalism and other arts, personalities such as Santoor maestro Shiv Kumar Sharma, theatre veteran Ratan Thiyyam, journalist Shazi Zaman, writer Rajiv Mehrotra, actor Rama Vij, photographer Benoy K Behl and author Kiran Seth have been nominated members of the society.
Among other government officials, the director of the National Film Archive of India (NFAI) and director of FTII have also been nominated ex-officio members.
Actress Zareena Wahab, director Rajkumar Hirani, actor Raza Murad and Subhash Chandra Sahoo will represent the alumni of FTII in the reconstituted society.
