Social media takes the stage

Digital media enthusiasts are in for a week-long joy as Social Media Week (SMW13) kicks off on Monday.

The event includes workshops and exhibitions focused on social media, photography and art. There are also parties organised till September 27 that will be open to public.

Organised by Bangalore-based marketing services firm RSquare Consulting, the event is the brainchild of New York-based firm Crowdcentric.

“Given India’s presence in the mobile and tech space, Mumbai felt like a natural fit for SMW13,” said Toby Daniels, founder of Social Media Week, and CEO, Crowdcentric. “Social Media Week is unconventional in terms of venues chosen, partnerships and its audience,” said Rohit Varma, founder of R Square Consulting.

Venues include Mantralaya, the NCPA, the GroupM office at Goregaon, Bluefrog and the Barking Deer in Lower Parel.
