Six people were injured after a speeding car hit them on Link Road in Goregaon (W) on Sunday morning. The incident took place around 9am, when the victims, residents of Bhagat Singh Nagar, were headed to Malad for a function.
Raghunath Bagul, senior inspector of Bangur Nagar police station, said, “A black car, headed towards Andheri, hit them when they were walking on the road. The accident occurred at Annabhau Sathe Chowk. Instead of helping the injured, the car fled the spot.”
The injured include four women — Prachi Pole, 16, Suman Bhutke, 45, Pragati Pole, 25, Dipika Pole, 22 — and two men — Madhukar Naik, 49, and Manoj Gaikwad, 39.
The six were taken to Siddharth Hospital in Goregaon (W). While four sustained minor injuries and were discharged, two of the injured suffered fractures in their legs and were shifted to Nair Hospital.
“We have not been able to identify the make of the car or get the registration number,” added Bagul.
