Vakola police on Sunday revealed that they have unlocked Siddhant Ganore's cell phone, which he left behind after allegedly killing his mother, Deepali.

"We have unlocked Siddhant's cell phone, which shows that he had contacted his father before the murder. Siddhant also revealed that he purposely left his cell phone at home after killing his mother to avoid getting tracked," said a Vakola division police officer.

"We don't think his presence is mandatory in the court as we have completed our investigations and it is likely that the next hearing will be done through video conferencing from Arthur Road jail," he added. Mahadeo Wavale, Senior Inspector, Vakola police station said, The accused is willing to give a confessional statement in front of the magistrate."
