As per the prosecution, Indrani, her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, and her driver Shyamvar Rai had allegedly abducted Sheena, killed her and later dumped her body in the jungles of Pen, Raigad district, Maharashtra.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday informed the court that the investigating officer in the Sheena Bora murder case received a mail from Mekhail Bora informing about the threat that he feels from one of his neighbours, who is in touch with Indrani Mukerjea’s lawyer in Assam.
As per the prosecution, Indrani, her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna, and her driver Shyamvar Rai had allegedly abducted Sheena, killed her and later dumped her body in the jungles of Pen, Raigad district, Maharashtra. After the Mumbai police arrested the three, Rai had addressed a letter to the court, claiming that he wishes to speak about the case in the court. However, there is no clarity on the application, if the court is willing to hear the same or will dispose of it. Following Sheena’s murder, Indrani had allegedly tried to murder her son, Mekhail.
The CBI in an application requested the court to forward the message to the Director General of Police (DGP), Assam, for taking necessary actions into the matter in the interest of justice.
DNA got an access to Mekhail’s mail which reads: “I have to inform you that I feel the danger to my life. As informed to you sir, I have filed a case to grant probate for the will made by my grandmother late Durga Ranee Bora, but since 2016, the case is still in progress.”
The letter further reads: “The executor of the will Mr Hrishikesh Burgohain informed me that he is being in touch with Indrani Mukerjea’s lawyer. I really feel very suspicious and scared. I have informed the honorable court in January 2018 that I do not want this probate since I realize that Buragohain is in touch with Indrani Mukerjea’s lawyer. Since then he has been mentally harassing me and as Mr Buragohain stays near me as my neighbour I am scared for my life. Sir, I stay all alone in this house no one to help I really fear for my life and find this person suspicious and associated to Indrani Mukerjea.”
The court, however, has not yet passed any orders with regard to the letter.
