With the arrest of three pimps from a flat in Oshiwara on Thursday night, the police claimed to have busted a high-profile sex racket. Five televison actresses were rescued from the flat. The police said most of the flats at the building were owned by IAS and IPS officers. The three middlemen have been identified as Imtiyaz Shaikh, Israr Alam and Karan Munde. “We had received a tip-off that a sex racket was being run from flat number 1402 of Meera Tower. We sent fake customers, who contacted Alam and Munde. The cops have made proper dairy entry in the police record and took the cash from the police station. The five girls were called and the rate was fixed at Rs5,000. As soon as the duo accepted the money, the cops nabbed them,” said a police officer, adding that “the flat was owned by a woman, whose husband runs a steel business and lives in Lokhandwala. They have rented the flat to a Pune-based businessman who use the flat as a guest house”.
