A bus cleaner raped a four-year-old girl in Badlapur. The cleaner told the victim that he would show her some magic and took her to the last seat of the school bus, were he raped her.
The girl later complained of pain in her stomach to her maternal aunt, who after taking her to a doctor confirmed the rape. They registered a complaint with the Badlapur (West) police station. The cleaner Sandeep Gulab Kerve has been arrested and will be produced in Ulhasnagar court on Sunday.
The victim is a Junior KG student with Don Bosco High School in Badlapur. The Junior KG and Senior KG students leave school at 4.30pm, while the seniors from standard fifth to tenth leave at 5pm. The school bus is thus kept waiting for the older students.
Dilip Patil, Senior Police Inspector, Badlapur west police station said, “On September 6, Friday, the victim along with her friend came and sat in the bus.
The cleaner approached the girl saying he would show her magic if she went with him. The cleaner then took her to the last seat, made her sleep on it and then raped her. When the girl started shouting and crying, her friend came and asked what was happening. The cleaner got scared and went away.”
Kerve was a cleaner with private bus of Don Bosco school and a resident of Heran society, Badlapur. After the incident, the victim went to her aunt’s place in Thane to celebrate the Ganpati festival. After two days she told her maternal aunt that she had stomach pain. Suspecting something wrong, the aunt informed the girl’s parents and took her to a private doctor.
On Saturday, the girl was taken to Central hospital in Ulhasnagar where the doctor asked them to file a complaint first. “We have two kids, the friends of the victim, as eyewitness. While the culprit is been arrested today who will be produced in Ulhasnagar court on Sunday. Further investigation in the case in on,” added Patil.
The Badlapur west police station have registered a case under section 376 (Punishment for Rape) of the Indian penal code and section 7 (Sexual Assault) and 8 (Punishment for sexual Assault) of the Protection of Children from Sexual offence Act, 2012.
