The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials have recovered Rs84 lakh from the residence of Assistant RTO Rajendra Nerkar. Nerkar is attached to the Andheri RTO. Nerkar was arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs1,500 from a travel and tour operator on Saturday. An inventory of his assets includes two flats and shops at Nashik and Mulund, 25 tolas of gold in a bank locker and two vehicles.

After Nerkar was arrested, ACB officials conducted a search of his residence in Mulund. The officials found Rs84 lakh in three bags. According to officials, his Mulund flat was purchased in 1997 at a cost of Rs14.47 lakh. Nerkar also owns a property at Rane Nagar in Nashik and two shops in the same building, all of which were purchased in April 2003. His Nashik assets collectively cost Rs6.96 lakh.
