Robber picks businessman's bag with revolver from car

The Mulund police have launched a hunt for an unidentified man who picked the bag of a businessman from his vehicle on Tuesday. They said the bag contained a licensed revolver, live bullets, a mobile phone and some cash.

The police said Umesh Mahadik, a textile businessman, had parked his Mahindra car near Mahavir Shikar tower in Mulund (West), at about 7pm, and stepped out for some work. When he returned, he found that the right rear window was broken and the bag was missing.

Mahadik approached the police and registered a complaint stating that the bag contained a .32 bore revolver, live cartridges, Rs.

Mahadik in his complaint to the police stated that his suitcase contained a .32 bore licensed revolver, five live cartridges, a mobile phone, totally valued at Rs1.70 lakh and Rs10,000 cash. There were some land documents too.

Police sub-inspector Dinkar Borse said the businessman has had the revolver for the past 15 years. "We are trying our best to nab the robber as possession of the gun and live bullets is dangerous," he said.

The police are also looking for any possible eyewitness, who could help them with a description of the man.
