Lt Col Tejinder Singh, who runs a training institute in Kondhva area, was arrested last night and is accused of misbehaving with the class IX student when she attended tuition on Sunday, according to a complaint filed by her parents.
The matter came to light when the girl refused to go to tuition for the abacus maths examination, police said.
Forty eight-year-old Singh has been charged under section 354 of IPC, they added.
