Adarsh society residents on Monday moved the Bombay high court challenging cancellation of occupation certificate and power and water supply cuts. MMRDA cancelled the certificate while the BMC cut the supply to the building on November 3. Advocate Satish Maneshinde said, “I am not authorised to reveal details.”Sources said the petition hinges on the contention that all clearances and permissions were obtained from concerned authorities before construction. The society denies that the building is built on defence land, adding that the picture given in the media regarding “irregularity and illegality” is factually incorrect. MMRDA and BMC’s action was followed by media revelations that the building was constructed by flagrant violation of rules.
