Rename BEST buses name plate to CSMT
Vinod Mishra has moved a notice of motion, requesting to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's administration to look into his proposal, and present a report in a month.
Hardly two months after the Central Railway renamed the iconic Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) railway station to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT), a BJP corporator from Malad has demanded that the name plate of all BEST buses that originate or terminate at CSMT should be renamed to CSMT from CST.
Vinod Mishra has moved a notice of motion, requesting to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's administration to look into his proposal, and present a report in a month. "Since the Central Railway changed the name of the terminus as a mark of respect to the Maratha king, the BEST also needs to follow the suit," said Mishra. The proposal will come up for a discussion in general body of BMC on September 15.
Prashant Saxena, a resident of Colaba appreciated BJP corporator's move. However, he added that public representatives need to raise more serious issues rather renaming of bus name plate or a road.
