Independent MLAs from Amravati district - Anil Bonde and Ravi Rana have decided to lead a rally to Nagpur session of Legislature on December 21 to press the demand of orange processing unit in Vidarbha instead of Nanded.

Both the MLAs have also supported the demand of separate Vidarbha state and appealed to all party leaders to unite on this issue.

Rana and Bonde told a press conference today that demands such as starting orange processing project in Amravati, starting a textile park in Amravati MIDC, giving packages to cotton mills in Vidarbha and restarting them, starting delayed irrigation projects and removing the irrigation backlog, giving special package for water conservation in dry zone and providing cancer hospital, trauma care to every district will be raised in the rally.

Giving BPL status to those who need it urgently, starting a software park in Amravati and Nagpur, giving 15% electricity connections and 5 years' tax relaxation to industries coming to Vidarbha, giving package to boost eco-tourism in Vidarbha and bringing out a white paper on the backlog issues of Vidarbha will be raised during the rally, the MLAs said.
