Mayor Mohansingh Rajpal asked PMC secretary Sunil Parkhi and chief security officer, Ramesh Shelar, to file a police case against the elected members who indulged in vandalism.
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Monday filed a first information report (FIR) at the Shivajinagar police station against 23 members of the Shiv Sena (SS), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) for destroying properties worth Rs5.75 lakh in the PMC.
Mayor Mohansingh Rajpal asked PMC secretary Sunil Parkhi and chief security officer, Ramesh Shelar, to file a police case against the elected members who indulged in vandalism.
The mayor also sought police action against BJP vice president Sandeep Khardekar, who illegally entered the house.
Talking to DNA, Rajpal said though Khardekar was not an elected member, he entered the general body hall and threatened him saying “the BJP will take revenge”.
According to the complaint, the vandalism has been recorded on the CCTV footage of the house. Cases have been filed against the corporators under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.
Those named in the FIR include Vikas Mathkari (BJP), Sham Deshpande (SS), Sanjay Bhosle (SS), Mahadev Babar (SS), Ashok Harnawal (SS), Babu Wagaskar (MNS), Varsha Tapkir (BJP), Manisha Ghate (BJP), Mukta Tilak (BJP), Lina Pansare (SS), Sumita Chintal (BJP), Vasant More (MNS), Megha Kulkarni (BJP), Vijay Deshmukh (SS), Madhuri Misal (BJP), Ujwal Keskar (BJP), Raja Barate (MNS), Jyotsna Sardeshpande (BJP), Sagar Malkar (SS), Seema Sardeshpande (BJP) and Ashok Ainapure (BJP).
A case has been filed against Khardekar and Dhiraj Ghate for damaging property worth Rs2,000 in the mayor’s chamber.
