The PMC owns many properties in the city and had given them on lease for various purposes.

Standing committee chairman Arvind Shinde said the civic body itself does not have any record about how many properties it has. It also does not have a record of the users of the properties.

Shinde said the administration needs to review the data on defaulters. “As the list is not updated, the administration is not able to clarify,” he said.

The civic panel has asked the municipal administration to prepare a detailed list immediately and seal the properties for which the lessees are not paying dues.

NCP’s leader of the house, Nilesh Nikam, said some PMC properties are being misused. Some middlemen are doing business in these properties without seeking permission from the PMC.
